How to Donate in general?

George Derby Centre is a registered charitable organization. All individual donations are tax deductible and a charitable donation tax receipt will be provided. All donations are graciously accepted and sincerely appreciated.

As with all non-profit organizations, George Derby Centre often lacks the funds to purchases much needed items and equipment that would make a difference in the lives of our residents. We are dependent upon the generosity of individuals and organizations to help us purchase these items. Donations also help us provide special programs and activities for the enjoyment and benefit of our residents and maintain the home-like environment created at the Centre.

We pledge to honour your wishes and promise that your donation is dedicated directly to our programs and services or the purchase of much needed equipment.

You may donate in person at the Centre or by mailing your donation to the address below.  Please specify if you would like your donation to go towards a specific item, project, or program.

Our Valued Volunteers

Volunteers play an important part in bringing the community to George Derby Centre. The George Derby Centre Volunteer's actively assists and supports our residents, family members and staff in so many ways. The Volunteer's operate the Gift Shop seven days a week. The funds raised help purchase much needed mobility equipment and support ongoing enhancements to our residents’ environment.

Our volunteers devote a significant amount of hours to supporting our residents’ personal needs and enhancing their well-being. Their time is spent assisting on regular community outings and hosting special bingo and social events. The volunteers also assist with recreational programs, visit our special care residents and provide library, reading, seamstress and other personal services.

George Derby Centre requires a complete Criminal Record Disclosure as a condition of acceptance into the volunteer program.
