Each 11th November commemorative ceremonies are held to recognize the sacrifices made by Canadian veterans. George Derby Centre is proud of our long history of caring for veterans and in October of this year we will re-introduce our Pledge a Flag campaign to highlight our commitment and to promote community awareness of the heroes amongst us.

The goal of “Pledge a Flag” is to raise awareness of the veteran population while raising funds that will ultimately contribute to the well-being of our veteran-residents – whether through social programs or much needed mobility equipment. George Derby Centre successfully purchased medical lift equipment as a result of our last “Pledge a Flag” campaign.

On November 5th, 2015 we welcome the students of Cariboo Secondary School and Armstrong Elementary who will plant our flags of those that have pledged. This collaborative project will be a spectacular vision of patriotic pride in honour of Canadian Veterans.

George Derby Care Society asks that you “Pledge a Flag” in honour of our veterans. Donations of $25.00 or more will be eligible for a tax deductible receipt.  You may contact George Derby Centre at 604.527.4455 to request a personal message on behalf of a veteran or loved one.
